The MAX3490ECSA is a 3.3V-powered, high-speed transceiver from Maxim Integrated designed for true RS-485 and RS-422 communications. It supports data rates up to 10Mbps and features slew-rate limiting to reduce EMI. The device has short-circuit current limiting with thermal shutdown protection to prevent damage during output overloads. Its receiver inputs have fail-safe characteristics, ensuring proper operation even when the input lines are open. This part comes in an 8-pin SO package and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
