The MAX3490ECSA is a high-speed, 10Mbps RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Maxim Integrated. It features short-circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown protection to safeguard against over-powering conditions by placing the driver outputs in a high-impedance state. The receiver input includes fail-safe functionality that maintains a valid logic state when both inputs are open. This part operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and comes in an 8-pin Small Outline (SO) package suitable for industrial environments requiring robust communication over long distances.
