The ADM4856ARZ is a differential line transceiver from Analog Devices (ADI) designed for high-speed, half-duplex or full-duplex communication in RS-485 and RS-422 multi-drop bus applications. It features separate driver enable inputs and receiver outputs for shared half-duplex operation or provides fully independent driver and receiver channels for full-duplex data transmission. With 1/8 unit load input impedance on the receiver, up to 256 transceivers can be connected on one bus. The device includes power-down capabilities to avoid bus contention when multiple drivers are not active.
