The DS2480B is a Serial-to-1-Wire interface IC manufactured by Maxim Integrated (now Analog Devices). It acts as a bridge between a UART or 5V RS232 system and a 1-Wire bus, enabling communication with 1-Wire devices like sensors or memory chips. This chip supports standard and high-speed modes and can be interfaced directly to a serial port or requires passive clamping and level translation for connection to ±12V RS232C systems.
