The ISL8488EIBZA is a full-duplex, high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transceiver manufactured by Intersil (now part of Renesas). It features ESD protection up to ±15kV, operates at 5V with low power consumption, and has limited slew rate. This chip comes in an 8-SOIC package, suitable for robust data transmission over long distances in industrial and commercial applications. It's designed to provide reliable communication in noisy environments while supporting a maximum data rate of 0.25Mbps. Multiple sources indicate it is available from various suppliers as of February 2024.
