The MAX485ESA+T is a low-power, half-duplex interface IC manufactured by Maxim Integrated (now part of Analog Devices). It functions as a transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 serial communication protocols. This component features a data transfer rate up to 2.5Mbps and operates at a 5V logic level. The chip contains separate driver and receiver sections with RO/DI pins interfacing directly with microcontroller RXD/TXD lines. Control pins RE/DE enable/disable the receiver and driver respectively.
